The saturation between art , design and product design is now a fusion of what seems to be 'intelligent making'. We are entering an age where the confines of creativity has become noticeably porous and has changed our environment with greater frequency than ever before. On that account, observing social and cultural change, understanding the impacts of their currents and transforming them into opportunity is now what seems to be the true essence of design.


In the last fifteen years design has morphed from a commodity, to a desirable object to an experience, basically an evolution from a product without a heart, to a product with emotion, to a product with meaning.


Design has already become “immaterial”, When completely stripped from form and reduced to its minimum. design reveals itself, among other things, as a process for solving problems, a strategy. This highly evolved state of design is now part of the must-have tool for the design-thinking generation.


I don’t think we would have arrived to this stage had we not consistently challenged the norms of design. Thus, those within the (little "d") design profession who mostly just make a product more aesthetically alluring are subject to scrutiny.

Rightfully so. Every now and then, there will come along a designer whose work is so prestigious, so thought-provoking–so good–that they actually become to represent a generation. Coming up with design solutions and ideas in a number of different fields of design , pushing boundaries, opening minds and yet looks pretty fantastic.


As designers, our capability to cross genres is dramatically expanding, creative minds are creating a phenomenon that seems to be tending towards a further redundancy of categories and borders between disciplines, as not to erode the role of professionals but to increase their capacity for collaboration beyond the confines of their respective disciplines.
